Dit jaar liet Indian Summer zich inspireren door de Maya, ongetwijfeld één van de meest ontwikkelde volken in het oude Amerika. Dit volk kende een hoogstaande cultuur. Maya’s, worden ook onder de categorie Indianen gerekend. De Maya wist hoe ons Hogere Zelf, via ons menselijk lichaam, verbonden is met de cycli van de maan, aarde, zon, vandaar het grote respect daarvoor. Dit respect is ook Globalicious en komt dus terug in de area Aarde.

Kom naar de Globalicious Love a Fair voor theater, cabaret & muziek, doe mee met de ontwikkelingsquiz, maak kunst van gerecycled materiaal, lekker knuffelen bij de boom(!), liefdesbrieven schrijven, strippen als je oneerlijke kleding draagt, een prachtwereld knutselen..genieten van biologische hapjes, (h)eerlijke cocktails en meer.. Ter inspiratie nemen we 8 prachtige doelen die de wereld nog mooier zullen maken!

Voorbeelden van deze doelen: In 2015 is extreme armoede en honger opgelost, gaan alle jongens en meisjes naar school, hebben mannen en vrouwen gelijke rechten, is kindersterfte sterk afgenomen, sterven er minder vrouwen door zwangerschap, is de verspreiding van ziektes als AIDS en malaria gestopt, leven meer mensen in een duurzaam milieu en is er meer eerlijke handel, schuldenverlichting en hulp. Het zou toch geweldig zijn als we daar allemaal bij kunnen helpen.

Het kan! Het is zelfs helemaal niet ingewikkeld.

Daarnaast zijn er op het Indian Summer Festival maar liefst 7 verschillende podia met zo’n 42 acts. Blǿf, Milow, Junkie XL, Dr. Lektroluv, Joris Voorn, Martin Solveig, en nog veel meer.

The charity event ‘music for life’ was all about drinkable water this year. To announce ‘music for life’, we worked around the fact that every tv host has a glass of water. It’s so common nobody notices it any more. Until we started this guerrilla campaign. Won 2 golden, 1 silver and a titanium award at Cannes Lions 2008

STiMULiNE is an audio-tactile performance by the artists Lynn Pook (DE) and Julien Clauss (FR) in which the group of participants wears futuristic seeming suits equipped with acoustic activators that transmit sound as an impulse on skin and bones. Sounds are thus not perceived through the outer membrane of the ear but are transmitted as the finest of vibrations through the entire body to the inner ear. It is a form of fictional concert without narrative structure that starts from the assumption that public sites for culture in real space will increasingly be replaced by virtual communication. STiMULiNE departs from the traditional concert situation and experiments with forms of perception of space and body. The participants lie relaxed on the floor while the two artists let the sounds move along and through the bodies. The presence of the public and the social interaction between the participants thereby becomes a central creative element.

The interactive machine International Dance Party is a complete plug ‘n’ play party in a box.

The machine comes as a large, non-suspicious looking flightcase. Internally, it is equipped with cutting edge radar sensing technology, an ear blasting state of the art 600W sound system, tons of psychedelic light and laser effects, and even a professional grade fog machine.

Through its dance activity radar, the International Dance Party detects and evaluates motion input from surrounding people in realtime. Several sophisticated transforming mechanisms let the flightcase turn into a powerful and boosting party machine, once the visitors start to dance within the machine’s range of perception.

The audience controls the complexity of the generated music and the intensity of the light effects directly by the energy of its dance action. When there is no audience, or when the audience is not active enough, the machine stops its performance and transforms back into a transport crate.

Wow… een van de tofste dingen die ik in tijden heb gezien.

Primal Source van Usman Haque is een installatie / performance die gedurende een nacht op Glow 08 tot leven werd gewekt door actieve participatie van de festival bezoekers. Door gebruik te maken van een enorm water / mist projectie systeem lichtte de fata morgana- achtige installatie op met kleuren en dynamische patronen, als reactie op het individuele en collectieve stemgeluid, de aanwezige muziek en het gegil van de bezoekers in de buurt van de installatie.

Als reactie op het geluid van de menigte, veranderd de output (‘mode’) van het systeem om de paar minuten, afhankelijk van hoe actief de participatie van de mensen is (het veranderd sneller wanneer er meer herrie is). Elke mode reageert net iets anders op de individuele stemmen en geluiden die worden opgepikt door 8 microfoons. Sommige modes vertoonden ‘wezens’ waarvan de kleur, vorm en beweging werd gevolgd door de frequentie en dynamiek van afzonderlijke lettergrepen en zinnen die werden opgepakt. Andere modes reageerden op meer collectieve situaties, bijvoorbeeld het verstoren van een grid als reactie op de volume van de menigte, of het creëren van een wind hoos door een graanveld.
